What data we collect

ClearView collects and stores the following when installed on a Shopify store:

• Store information: your myshopify.com domain, store currency/timezone, and your ClearView plan and profit assumptions (fee rates, shipping cost).
• Order data: for recent orders we store order number, dates, totals (subtotal, tax, shipping, refunds), financial/fulfillment status, line items (product/variant IDs, SKU, quantity, price), and the order's traffic attribution summary (source/medium/campaign, referrer, landing page). We do not store customer names, emails, addresses, or payment details.
• Product costs: the cost-of-goods values you import, enter, or that sync from Shopify.

How we use your data

Data is used solely to provide the ClearView service: calculating per-order and store-level profit, cost coverage, and (in future) advertising profitability and attribution. We do not use your data to train models or for advertising.

Data retention

We retain order and cost data while the app is installed, scoped to your plan's history window (7–180 days). Raw order payloads are minimized — we keep only the fields needed for profit analytics. When you uninstall, your data is deleted (see below).

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. Data is stored within the app's hosting infrastructure and is only accessible to you through the Shopify admin.

Data deletion

When you uninstall ClearView, all your data (orders, costs, settings) is deleted automatically. Shopify also sends a shop-redact request 48 hours after uninstall, which triggers a full deletion. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.

GDPR compliance

ClearView handles all mandatory Shopify GDPR webhooks: customer data requests, customer data erasure, and shop data erasure. On a data-deletion request, the relevant records are removed from our database.
